What does EcoDesign 2022 and EN 303-5 Class 5 actually require?
Since 1 January 2022, every new biomass boiler placed on the EU market must comply with EcoDesign regulation 2015/1189. It sets emission limits (CO, NOx, particulates) and a minimum seasonal efficiency that applies at the design stage.
EN 303-5 Class 5 is the strictest level for solid fuel boilers. A Tatano pellet boiler of this class typically exceeds 90% efficiency with very low emissions. This is the key technical document for the permit file.

In multi-unit buildings, the aid rises to €6,000 per housing unit (overall cap €40,000). For a heating network: €6,000 per installation (cap €24,000). Bonuses are cumulative and may stack with some municipal aids.
