Everything about Tatano boilers
Price, power, warranty, grants, installation, maintenance — the concrete answers we give our customers every day.
How much does a Tatano boiler cost installed?
The price depends on the output, the fuel, the existing installation (flue, storage, hydraulic connection) and the options. It is set only in your personalised study, then in the final quote after your advisor's visit.
What power for what heated surface?
Rule of thumb: 30 W/m² for a passive/RT 2020 home, 60 W/m² for a new RT 2012/BBC build, 90 W/m² for an insulated 1990–2010 home, 120 W/m² for 1970–1990 standard, 150–180 W/m² for poorly insulated old homes, 220 W/m² for uninsulated. A 200 m² older house needs ~36 kW; the same surface as a passive home, ~6 kW.
What fuels work with a Tatano boiler?
Depending on the model: wood pellets (ENplus A1 grade), wood chips (ISO 17225-4), logs, and agricultural fuels (cereals, olive pits, crushed shells) on Mini-K BK and 23 E series. Multi-fuel models accept switching based on local supply.
What is the Tatano warranty?
European statutory warranty of 2 years on our appliances; detailed terms are available on our website. Beyond the warranty, Tatano still produces spare parts for boilers installed 20, 30 or 40 years ago — planned obsolescence does not exist in the Tatano range, the machines are engineered to last a lifetime.
What areas do you cover for installation?
Tatano Luxembourg distributes across all French-speaking countries: full Luxembourg, Belgium (Wallonia, Flanders, Brussels), Switzerland, Canada, and all of France. Engineering study from Pommerloch (Luxembourg); manufacturing at the family factory in Sicily, on-site appointment to assist with boiler placement.
Are you eligible for Klimabonus, MaPrimeRénov', energy grants?
Depending on the country and the fuel; our prices are shown without any grant deducted. Luxembourg: the 2026 Klimabonus subsidises the pellet boiler (automatic feed and ignition) in an existing home, up to €8,000 for a single-family home replacing a fossil heating system (guichet.public.lu, page of 11/08/2026). Belgium: the temporary Walloon Primes Habitation scheme closed on 30/09/2026 and Flanders does not subsidise biomass boilers. France: MaPrimeRénov' for single works only funds heat pumps; a biomass boiler is only funded within a whole-home renovation (france-renov.gouv.fr). Switzerland: cantonal Buildings Programme. Your advisor checks the grants in force at the time of application.
How long does an installation take?
For a standard residential replacement (15–100 kW boiler), allow 2–5 days on site: removal of old equipment, hydraulic connection, flue installation, commissioning and user training. A new install with boiler-room layout can extend to 1–2 weeks. Industrial 1–3 MW projects require 4–8 weeks.
Who handles installation? Is a separate installer needed?
Tatano handles the full chain: study, supply, installation, commissioning, and annual maintenance — single point of contact, no unknown subcontractors. Our technicians are trained on our products. For long-term follow-up, we also connect the customer with a trusted technician close to home.
How does annual maintenance work?
One annual service is required to keep warranty and grant eligibility valid. Tatano organises the appointment: ash bin emptying, combustion chamber cleaning, heat exchanger, sensor and combustion check, pressure verification. Multi-year package available.
Are pellet boilers silent?
Yes, modern Tatano pellet boilers run at 35–45 dB(A) under normal operation (similar to a fridge). Auger feed and flue gas extractor fan are designed to minimise noise. Kalorino KS inserts are even quieter — manual feed or integrated hopper.
What efficiency does a Tatano boiler achieve?
Class 5 models reach 92–95% useful efficiency on certified ENplus A1 pellets, 88–92% on ISO 17225-4 wood chips, 84–89% on logs depending on moisture (ideal < 20%). The 1:4 modulation matches power output to building needs, avoiding wasteful short cycles.
How much does Tatano save versus oil/gas?
In use, pellets and wood chips cost significantly less per useful kWh than heating oil. The gap depends on the day's official prices and on your consumption: our pellets vs oil comparator calculates it daily, and your personalised study quantifies it for your home.
Which Tatano pellet boiler should I choose for a house?
For residential use, Tatano pellet boilers (Kalorina, Blu Evo) cover 15 to 100 kW with automatic feed, 1:4 modulation and energy class A++. The choice depends on the heated surface, the insulation and domestic hot water production. A free thermal study sizes the right pellet boiler — without oversizing.
What is a Tatano pellet insert?
A Tatano pellet insert (Kalorino KS range) is a closed firebox burning pellets or logs that heats the room by radiation and supplies the central heating circuit through an integrated heat exchanger. Ideal for keeping the look of a fireplace while replacing heating oil. Typical outputs 15–30 kW, quiet, compatible with a buffer tank and solar.
Wood boiler or pellet boiler: what is the difference?
A pellet boiler is fed automatically with pellets (maximum comfort, Klimabonus in Luxembourg). A Tatano wood boiler accepts logs, wood chips or several fuels depending on the model — a fuel that is often cheaper per kWh but needs more storage space. Both reach EN 303-5 Class 5 and can be coupled with a buffer tank.
Can a Tatano boiler be coupled with a solar storage tank and solar panels?
Yes. Tatano offers forced- or natural-circulation solar systems (solar thermal panels + solar storage tank) that can be connected to any biomass boiler via a buffer tank. In summer, solar covers domestic hot water and reduces the load on the boiler. In Luxembourg, the Klimabonus grants a flat-rate +€1,000 with solar thermal.

Grants in Luxembourg
In Luxembourg, the Klimabonus 2026 scheme subsidises the installation of a wood-pellet boiler in an existing residential building. Since 1 January 2026, only PELLET boilers remain eligible — log-fired and wood-chip boilers have been removed from the support scheme (aligning with the EU RED directive).
Klimabonus 2026 — wood-pellet boiler
Up to €8,000 for a single-family home (€4,000 if no old installation is being replaced); €6,000 per dwelling in a multi-unit building (capped at €40,000). Bonuses: +15% of the grant with a buffer tank (30 l/kW), +€1,000 flat-rate with solar thermal.
- Reserved for EXISTING residential buildings (housing — neither new-build nor commercial)
- Pellet boiler with automatic feed and ignition: particulates ≤ 8 mg/m³, NOx ≤ 200 mg/m³, efficiency ≥ 90%
- Application to be submitted within 4 years from 31 December of the year of the invoice
- Law of 24 July 2026: amounts published on guichet.public.lu (page updated on 11/08/2026)
Supplementary municipal grants
Varies by municipality — combinable with the national Klimabonus (some municipalities offer nothing).
- Amount and conditions specific to each municipality
- To be checked municipality by municipality via the Klima-Agence simulator
